Piman Pu – Koh Jum beach villa for rent

Koh Jum is a quiet, peaceful and friendly tropical getaway place. Koh Jum has a number of different names. It is known as Koh Jum (‘remember island‘) in the southern part, and Koh Pu (‘crab island‘) in the northern part. The reason for this comes from the two main villages which have the same names. The island is 13 kilometres from the mainland and about 15 kilometres to the north east of Koh Phi Phi.

Koh Jum will suit those who want to chill out, have a vacation and get away from the fast pace of life. It is a place where you sleep listening to the sound of the sea, and where you don’t need a watch.

The island was connected to the mains power grid in 2009. There are no ATMs, Seven-11′s, or supermarkets on the island, although with the recent connection to mains power this may change. The island is full of natural tropical beauty, and Koh Pu still has that “off the beaten track” feeling.

The island is easily accessible by air from Krabi airport with regular connections to Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. It is about 3.0 hours by road to Phuket airport.

In the high season, a ferry operates between Krabi town and Koh Lanta. this fast ferry stops off shore at Koh Pu and Koh Jum where passengers can take long-tail boats to the beach at either part of the island.

Piman Pu Villa

Piman Pu is a villa in Krabi right on the beach in beautiful Koh Jum. This traditional ecotourism Thai-style beach villa has comfortable sleeping facilities and is equipped with a modern kitchen and bathrooms. The house is elevated, and equipped with fans, and with the sea breezes – air-conditioning is available in 2 bedrooms. The location is beautiful, majestic and peaceful. The villa is set in its own garden setting, with direct access to near private beach on unspoilt Luboh Bay, Koh Pu, Krabi. From the villa are also stunning views to Koh Lanta and to the mountain which dominates Koh Pu at 395 metres.

Koh Pu is accessed by a beautiful boat crossing. At high tide the boat can come right to the front of the house.

Luboh Beach (Ao Luboh) has bungalow style resort accommodation, which is friendly and inexpensive, but ‘Piman Pu’ is a bit more special than the surrounding accommodation currently on Koh Pu’s Luboh Beach.

Once on the island you can take a day trip to Bamboo and Mosquito Islands National Park where you can snorkel on the reef in the warm clear Andaman Sea, and maybe head to Phi Phi Don for a nice lunch on the beach.

You could arrange a hike up the mountain to take in the views. Or, if you feel less energetic, you can spend your time relaxing – swimming, reading and eating Thai food, listening to the lapping sea.
